All Disaster Preparedness response and planning, exercise design and training. Division included a joint communications center for County Law Enforcement, County wide Fire and EMS dispatch, and the primary answering point for the county's 911 system. Maintained three communications towers and programming of all Sheriff's Office radios. Prepared and managed a division budget of over 1.3 million dollars. Also responsible for the County Emergency Operations Center, and supervision and direction of the Sheriff's Office Honor Guard and aviation unit consisting of two OH 58 helicopters. There were 42 employees in my division. Accomplishments included, combining three separate dispatch centers into one, designing a new Emergency Operations / Command Center for the County, and writing and receiving numerous grants for communications center expansion and 911 equipment for the primary and secondary answering points. I was also the incident commander for the Gulf Oil Spill incident for Walton County, coordinating multiple local, State, Federal and private agencies during the preparation, response and recovery portions of the incident. Began work at the agency as a Lieutenant / Division Commander of Special Operations and Support, supervising Communications, Court Security, Civil Process, Warrants, and the Honor Guard before promoting to Division Chief.
