At Superdry I have developed my retail skills that I have learned from sports direct and Facts International and progressed into a sales assistant with vast experience. Superdry has enabled me to approach a customer setting a lot differently from previous retail experience as Superdry is very customer focussed aiming to give customers the best shopping experience on the market. Through this and Superdry’s training I feel my skills have moved up to the next level. Through having good relationships with the managers that I have had at Superdry and my hard work ethic I have become a valued member of the team able to operate in any department and work hard to meet targets and demands of the customers. I have worked under three different managers at Superdry each with different managerial skills and styles, I feel this has enabled me to gain an understanding of people management and see how different leadership styles affect the team and how well the team performs and hopefully be able to apply what I have gained and learned from each manager to my own performances and leadership style.

I worked at Sports Direct in Ashford Town and previously worked at Donnay in the Ashford Designer Outlet until it closed. I have good customer service skills and am able to work effectively as a team with my colleagues. I often stayed late after my shift had finished tidying the store and re stocking the footwear department. Through working at Sports Direct I have been trained on tills and security measures, including how to use the outlet security radio which I have had to use on more than one occasion to catch a potential thief. During my time at Donnay I have caught two people thieving and detained them. I was also one of the senior staff members at Donnay and often got left to manage departments, such as shoes, tills or door; this involves helping other team members and managing what tasks are to be completed.

Whilst at Donnay I took on a second job, this job involved ringing various people up for research, the main research project I worked on at my time at facts was for a high profile building society. This job helped improve my communication skills as well as being able to deal with un-happy customers. However with college and exams I did not have the time for two jobs so I decided to leave Facts. When leaving I was told that I was welcome back anytime.
