It is with great enthusiasm that I recommend Mike, without reservation, for K-20 counseling and guidance positions and leadership positions in student affairs. I have known Mike for two decades and have been in impressed by his interpersonal skills, strategic and critical thinking, and creativity in problem solving. Mike has sincere empathy for others and works hard to help those in need. His experience and educational training as a K-12 counselor and over a decade of experience in higher education has made him well suited to take on a variety of roles in education. He has a wealth of knowledge in the areas of higher education, counseling, and instruction. I find myself regularly going to Mike to seek counsel on issues related to student development and organizational changes. He is a very loyal employee and will work hard for whoever his boss is. He is also a natural team player as he is intrinsically a peacemaker and communicator. He is careful to avoid superficial solutions but instead seeks to understand the deeper issues and context so the real problem is solved. Mike is extremely smart and can adapt to new tasks and environments with ease. He is also aware of his strengths and weaknesses and continuously works to improve his professional abilities. For these reasons, I give Mike my highest endorsement for any position he applies.

I worked with Michael in a 101 course where Communications students were learning about the department and how to get through college in a healthy way. Mike and I taught the course together and he worked with the students on everything from how to manage their time, to how to connect with others to make friends, to how to deal with living away from home for the first time. Michael's experience with psychology really shined in this course because he knows how to talk to students and make them feel comfortable and supported. Faculty and students alike were sad to see Michael go as he was such an incredible asset to the school. Michael was knowledgable, helpful, professional and an all around great person to work with.
