A household name on either side of the Tasman, Canterbury was established in 1904 in the New Zealand province of Canterbury by three English expats, making tough woollen garments for the challenging New Zealand weather. They were so good at it that they were asked to make uniforms in World War I for the Australian and New Zealand armies. Later, Canterbury designed an on-field kit for the All Blacks rugby team and the rest, as they say, is history. Today Canterbury produces a wide range of clothing including performance wear, compression wear, on-field apparel, supporters wear and classic and lifestyle seasonal ranges. As part of the Australian IT team, I was tasked with a project to replace their existing Retail Point of Sale (POS) system. This saw me conducting Business Analysis activities to source, develop and replace the existing system with a much more fit for purpose solution, implementing it throughout Australia and New Zealand, producing user manuals, and conducting end-user training. From this I went on to develop their Point of Sale procedures and Manuals and produced ad-hoc and static reports from the POS databases once it moved into Business as Usual (BAU).
