      • Feb 2022 - Jun 2022

This study used biomechanical principles to determine which factors, such as velocities, angular accelerations, and joint angles influenced throwing velocity the most. This helped focus the MSOE baseball and softball team’s training programs to help increase their throwing velocities. Data was collected using BTS motion analysis cameras and software, along with force plate sensors. These trials recorded values such as velocities, accelerations, and joint angles of the body to see what factors influenced throwing velocity the most. Multiple tests and trials were run to ensure validity of the results. Motion capture software helped analyze proper mechanics and form. Statistical methods were used to prove which factors were statistically significant. Provided suggestions, in conjunction with our results, to train the most important factors in throwing velocities. • Jul 2021 - Jul 2021

Founder of a new MSOE club which will help advance athletic performance at MSOE. This will be done by utilizing the new MSOE biomechanics lab. Data will be collected using BTS motion analysis software and force plate sensors. The collected data will then be reviewed, looking for inefficiencies. With the information, we will be able to improve the athlete’s performance and help prevent injuries.

    • MSOE Baseball Throwing Program
      • Nov 2020 - Jul 2021

Currently co-creating a long-distance throwing projection tool for the MSOE baseball team. Developed tool in Excel and MATLAB using kinematics and calculus to predict ball’s flight path and distance, based on the player’s throw performed indoors, in a limited space. Tool will project the distance the ball will travel on a full-size outdoor field. Future goals include turning into an application for phones. Projection Tool will assist coaches in measuring a player’s indoor training progression.
