I was the co-founder and BUTV10 producer for the student-run political news show, Government Center, at Boston University. Panel discussions have ranged from Brexit to Governor Charlie Baker’s statewide vape ban. One-on-one interviews have included two Boston City Council candidates—At-Large Councilor Michael Flaherty and District 8’s Back Bay hopeful Jennifer Nassour—offering their pitches for the 2019 election. As a producer, I sought press clearance for several events around the Greater Boston area. I assembled a crew to report on Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang at his rally at Cambridge Common. Gov’t Center’s full rally footage amassed over 13,000 views on YouTube. My crew also covered Sen. Bernie Sanders' rally in the Boston Common. As a field reporter, I booked and interviewed New Hampshire Deputy Secretary of State David Scanlan for an in-studio explainer segment on BUTV10’s “Primary Focus” first-in-the-nation special. For our live Super Tuesday coverage, I pre-taped an interview with Dr. Yusef Salaam of the Central Park Five on Mayor Mike Bloomberg's past with stop and frisk policies, President Donald Trump's death penalty ad, and the Mass. criminal justice system.
