Social Change Club President
-
Sep 2020 - Jul 2022
Created and led multiple initiatives throughout the school year to develop a culture of social awareness at Luther High School. Initiatives included advocating for and installing period product dispensers in bathrooms on campus, school-wide Black History Month events, a food drive for a local family center, Leading student-legislator discussions on sustainability and accessibility in the city of Regina, multiple school-wide assemblies educating the student body on social topics (e.g., International Women's Day, Earth day, Trans Remembrance day), mental health film night, environmental film night, and many other social-justice focused events. Duties included administrative correspondence, leading group meetings, planning and executing initiatives, school engagement and recruitment, and media/design work. This role allowed me to explore some of the initiatives that I am extremely passionate about, like equity and inclusion in a way that shared those values with others. I am extremely proud of the work that was done over the two years that I took on a leadership role in the club, and I am happy to say that we left a lasting impact on the Luther College, and Regina-wide community.
