Robert Richardson
Mhar is one of the most tenacious men I know. He is patient, kind, and generous with a joyous resilience to setbacks that make him an excellent developer and a delight to be around. He has an uncommon ability to juggle a relentless drive to solve a problem, the day to day responsibilities of his role, and a natural tendency to teach and mentor. The best illustration of his tenacity was several months ago when our team was tasked with building out an integration with one of our vendors and we hit a snag building out the last 10%. When our team shifted priorities he said, "Its fine I can handle this conference call and report back". Weeks later when he was told by our superiors, "You can keep on this if you'd like but we can also get this off your back" he said, "Thanks, but I'm pretty sure we (he, our parent company, and the vendor's engineers) can figure this out". Weeks later when our user's said, "It'd be great if you could get that working but we understand if its too much" he kept showing up. Weeks later when the vendor admitted the way they had been described their api hadn't been... strictly speaking true and that's why it hadn't worked for the past 4 months, Mhar kept showing up. Through all this he cleaned up far more than his share of bugs, built out several features, taught other dev's a new testing framework. A couple weeks ago he comes back from his weekly meeting with a big smile on his face. "It works, we got it to work" Nah Mhar. you got it to work. No one shows up with as much grace and constancy as you. You're a great coworker and an even better friend. I look forward to building many things with you.
