      In this role, I am currently working as a Candidate Geomatics Practitioner as I am doing my articles towards becoming a professional land surveyor. I am working under the supervision of reputable and highly skilled professional land surveyors and engineering surveyors at 5D Geo in acquiring different skills that are of utmost importance to the land surveying profession. Some acquired skills including: -Surveying equipment and software: I have been able to sharpen my skill in the usage of several surveying equipment including Robotic total stations, GPS, Terrestrial laser scanners, UAVs for aerial mapping. Software include Model Maker, Survey Maker, Road Maker, QGIS, ArcGIS, PlanetGIS, Leica Cyclone, Trimble Business Centre, AutoCAD, Civil3D, EasySurv. -Cadastral surveying practices: Retrieveing cadastral data from CSG website and using for several calculation required for cadastral surveys. These include, but not limited, to subdivisions, consolidations, beacon relocation, sectional title, servitudes, ID certificates for establishments. -Engineering Surveying: Working on several construction sites, establishing control for sites, providing support for project managers through interpreting drawings and site plans, calculations, setting out required possitions for construction, as-built surveys and reporting. -Control surveys: Include setting up control points on sites that are to be developed or setting up gorund control for aerial surveys. -3D Scanning and Registration: Includes working with several terrestrial laser scanners including Leica P40, BLK360, RTC360 to capture point cloud data of structures for 3D modelling and BIM compilation. Registraion of point cloud data through Leica Cyclone Core and Cyclone Registration 360. -GIS: Include making use of GIS software i.e. QGIS, PlanetGIS, ArcGIS to produce maps for mining rights plans, prospecting rights plans etc. Show less
