While working out of the Tyco Global Supply Chain Engineering group, Hiren sourced one of our commodity raw materials out of India (LLC) at very favorable pricing. Unfortunately, the quality was below our expectation, but through this activity, along with the prospect of additional LLC sourcing, our domestic supplier reduced their price to make future off-shore sourcing unnecessary for this feed-stock. Hiren also worked with the initial LLC vendor to minimize any quality or financial exposure. Hiren was responsible for this aggressive sourcing activity. Through his leadership at each stage of this process we were able to get the best quality material input and achieve a significant improvement on our bottom line.
