Merry is one of the most competent college students I have ever worked with. Merry interned for our company, Dakota Energy Advisors, and we simply could not have been more pleased with the quality of her work as well as her demeanor. Merry has an innate ability to learn and understand what she is working on. Throughout the internship, we were always impressed with how quickly Merry picked up on any task given to her. Additionally, she possesses the self-drive to continuously pursue a further understanding of the industry by conducting her own outside research. Merry is highly proficient with PHDWin engineering software and has a firm understanding of oil and gas production profiles. One of Merry’s tasks was to project every horizontal oil well drilled since 2000 in the Rocky Mountain Region (over 38K wells). This database has been extremely helpful for our company, allowing us to quickly analyze the production of any unconventional play in the Rocky Mountain Region. In addition, Merry has been very helpful building Petra projects, handling land issues and assisting with general accounting matters. We have been very, very pleased with our investment in Merry. She has been a tremendous asset for our company.

I have had the opportunity to know and work with Merry for over two years. During that time, I have been extremely impressed with her for a number of reasons. She has an extraordinary work ethic. Her double major in two engineering disciplines have at times required her to take in excess of 20 credit hours. She managed to balance her time between her classes with 20 hours/week of work and being an officer in a campus club. She also takes time out to help and mentor classmates with their work. On project teams, she most often evolves into a lead role. She has great interpersonal skills that make her an excellent teammate on joint assignments and projects. Those interpersonal skills have also served her very well in her summer internships during the past two summers. Everyone she has worked for has not hesitated to offer the opportunity to work for them again. In my 40+ years career, I have the good fortune to work with and be associated with a large number of very talented young people. Merry would sit at the top of the list of truly exceptional young engineers that I have encountered. I am now retired, but if I was in the position of recruiting and hiring young engineers, I would not hesitate to hire Merry for any number of roles. And I do not hesitate to recommend her for consideration by anyone looking for someone with her skills and background.
