The Food Bank is a critical regional safety-net organization (with a $60MM+ operating budget) powered by ~275 committed employees that provides fresh groceries to more than 50,000 households each week. In this role I was responsible for leading organizational strategy as the Food Bank more than doubled in size in response to the dramatic increase in need in our community during COVID and then underwent a significant leadership transition. • Facilitated an organizational reframing project called "Seeds of Change" with all staff and board resulting in new organizational values and a new mission framework/theory of change grounded in justice and equity.• Led a cross-functional team which empowered and consulted all-staff and board in the development of an equity-centered 3-year Strategic Plan.• Served as the executive sponsor with an outside consultant to assess the organization's justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion work including launching a new council which created the organization's first Equity plan that resulted in the hiring a new chief people officer of equity and inclusion and a new Assoc. Director of Learning & Development. • Oversaw the onboarding and transition of the new Executive Director after the retirement of the organization's founding ED (30+ years tenure) and served as a strategic advisor in her onboarding and transition. • Launched an organizational engagement team, building out a new cross-functional team model and launching a new org-wide change management pilot to support staff voice and empowerment.• Led the Development department as it scaled its private fundraising efforts by 50% to more than $38MM in private contributions in response to the pandemic. Managed a staff of 98 with 5 direct reports (CFO, CDO, VP of HR, VP of Supply Chain, and Director of Analytics). • Led the process to create an ambitious 5-year strategic plan with a focus on scaling sustainably, agile innovation, and improved infrastructure and technology. • Implemented a 5-year IT Roadmap, which resulted in significant infrastructure improvements including: a new HRIS (Paycom), new financial management system (Adaptive), customizing Zendesk for an integrated programmatic call center, a new WMS, and launching the project to create a participant and partner CRM.• Designed and implemented significant organizational design changes, including launching a new analytics team, elevating HR to the executive team, and reorganized the 40+ person Supply Chain team to empower middle managers. • Oversaw a successful $40MM+ capital campaign. • Supported the growth of the organization’s annual private contributions from $17M+ to more than $26M+.• Led our Board Building Task Force to oversee the acquisition of a new satellite warehouse, the planning and renovations for that facility, and an extensive renovation and build-out of our headquarters.
