•Advise student-athletes with course selection to ensure progress towards their degree; •Meet with prospective student-athletes and parents; •Work with the Eligibility Coordinator on evaluating Men’s Basketball transfers; •Responsible for initiating and sustaining the class check program; •Oversee daily study hall; •Work with the tutor coordinator to ensure tutoring needs are met for student-athletes; •Coordinate Mobile Advising semesterly; •Coordinate and execute ROARientation (summer bridge) for incoming freshmen and transfers, including but not limited to: Student Conduct, Student Success Center, Peer Educators, and Women’s & Counseling Centers; • Oversee the Monarch Degree Completion program and serve as the liaison to the NCAA Degree Completion program; •Serve as the liaison to the bookstore and coordinate book pickup and return; •Work with 70 student-athletes, of which 24% have a documented learning disability; •Supervise a staff of 17 student workers; •Meet daily with select Men’s Basketball student-athletes; •Meet weekly with the Director of Educational Support regarding progress of at-risk student-athletes; •Meet bi-weekly with Men’s Basketball staff to review academic progress; •Advised four teams (Baseball, Men's Basketball, and Men's & Women's Tennis) that earned a cumulative team GPA of 2.80 or higher for the 2016-2017 academic year; •Advised four teams (Baseball, Men's Basketball, and Men's & Women's Swimming and Diving) that earned a cumulative team GPA of 2.80 or higher for the 2015-2016 academic year; •Advised six teams (Baseball, Women's Basketball, and Men’s & Women’s Golf and Men’s & Women’s Swimming and Diving) that earned a cumulative team GPA of 2.80 or higher for the 2012-2013 academic year; •Helped Women’s Basketball earn the first 3.00 team GPA since 2000 in Fall 2013; •Monarch Academics liaison to ODU SafeSpace, Strome College of Business, and the College of Sciences. •Handle APR data in CAi for 13 varsity sports; •Meet with prospective student-athletes and parents; •Responsible for facilitating initial, transfer, and continuing eligibility certification; •Work with the registrar’s office to obtain official unofficial evaluations of prospective student-athletes’ transcripts prior to them coming on unofficial and official visits; •Serve as a liaison between students, coaches, professors, and other campus services including but not limited to: Financial Aid, Registrar’s Office, Disability Services, Student Community Ethics, and Admissions; •Supervise one work study student; •Teach two University Experience courses for student-athletes during the fall semester and one Learning Contact course for student-athletes on academic probation during the spring semester; •Meet twice a week with student-athletes on academic probation or at risk for academic probation (football and men’s basketball) to monitor their progress and to work on academic skills; •Responsible for restructuring the way certifying eligibility is done each semester; •Serve as first check in verifying eligibility for 300 student-athletes.
