      As a research assistant, I am tasked to create new analogues of the drug Thalidomide through organic synthesis using various chemical reactions such as oxidation, dehydration, condensation, substitution and Heck reactions. Using various methods such as crystallization, thin-layer chromatography, column chromatography and vacuum filtration, I was able to isolate 7 different new analogues of Thalidomide and identify them using Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) analysis.
