Mel and I have worked together on several projects and I was lucky to call her my supervisor. Under her leadership, I completed some of my best work and was able to gain valuable professional experience.

I worked with Melody during her role as Student Support Specialist. In our work together Melody provided solid clinical support to students with emotional/behavioral health needs. Melody's approach is one of warmth, commitment, and passion. She employs strengths-based interventions to engage not only clients but also their families. She has a natural ability to lead others and is often consulted for her clinical expertise. She also collaborated with me to develop trainings to increase awareness and sensitivity to the needs of children of with emotional/behavioral health needs. For these trainings, Melody created a quick reference guide of effective interventions to use in the classroom environment for students with behavioral health needs. We received feedback from trainees that this resource equipped them with tangible strategies to engage students in the learning process as well as to provide supportive strategies to help students cope with their symptoms in the classroom setting. Melody is a joy to have on any team and as a leader. She is a valued resource and I'm thankful for the opportunities I've had to work with her.

As Melody Logan's advisor, I had consistent interaction with her determination over the two years she pursued her Master's degree at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. While continuing to be successful in her personal and professional life, she exuded a drive for excellence in creating her Applied Research Project evidenced by her continual inquiry into feedback about her writing style and presentation of ideas. Melody's passion for life, people, and learning made her an absolute pleasure to guide through the program.

During my tenure, I was successful with creating Individual Service plans, collaborating with school administrators to implement functional behavioral assessments and ensuring students had the requisite resources they needed and effective behavior intervention plans. I also conducted observations of youth in their natural environments and assessed their behaviors, tone and attitude in order to create individual service plans. This was done in conjunction with their families, schools and outside agencies in order to assist them with behavior modification, while utilizing evidence based-practices to reinforce positive behavior and redirect negative attention seeking.
