On behalf of Melody Kerigan this letter is written to not only describe Mel’s work, but also applaud and recommend her for the effort that she gave during her time with Taylor University Campus Recreation & Intramural Sports during the 2012-2013 school year. During her internship with Campus Rec, Mel served as the Intramural Programming Assistant in which she served 4-6 hours a week completing the following position expectations: media/information programming responsibilities, interacting in Intramural administration meetings, meetings, 1-1 mentoring sessions, and social media management. Through these expectations Mel has attained strong working experience in regards to: • Advertisement Design & Creation: Active & Passive programming materials, campus rec logo, as well as many on campus advertisements. • Photography: Capture action shots of intramural programs and events and then organize a picture data base of Campus Rec photos for the year. Post photos on social media sites and also send photos to update website. • Program Communications: Support program events with social media communications to students. Develop a following of students on social media sites: Twitter, Instagram, Facebook. • Social Media Administration: Publish posts about events, update students on program info, and manage social media needs throughout the year. • Website Updates: Work with University IT to add developments to the Campus Rec website. • Data Collection: Collect scores of games and events and report them via website, social media in creative ways. Overall, throughout Mel’s internship experience she provided creativity, initiative, passion, professionalism, and service. I appreciated Mel’s approach to her work as she treated each and every project as an opportunity to communicate and share our work with the campus at large. I commend Melody for her work, and I would recommend her to any program that would be interested in having her.
