Engineered a biodegradable plastic mulch out of bacterial cellulose for strawberry farms to help reduce plastic waste in the agricultural industry. Collaborated with Professor Emeritus, Dr. Husain Ajwa from UC Davis and met with the USDA to build a mulch that follows organic standards. Led the team to achieve our school’s first gold medal from the competition and nominated for Best Environmental Project.
