Representation included communicating student-centered issues to external partners such as government officials and legislators, serving as the voting representative of California State University, San Bernardino on the Board of Directors for the California State Student Association, researching legislation and inform the student constituency regarding issues affecting higher education, and serving as vice-chair for the Ad-Hoc Policy Committee which is charged with reviewing and updating all Associated Students, Incorporated policies and procedures.Key projects included planning and executing the first annual, campus-wide Women’s Leadership Conference, creating a campus-wide campaign against the 2018-19 proposed tuition increase, and hiring and training a small team of students to research legislation and lobby for student interests at the state level. Additionally, I authored two resolutions: Resolution Against the California State University System 2018-19 Tuition Increase which was unanimously approved by the Associated Students, Incorporated Board of Directors and Resolution Regarding Campus Safety and Incident Response which was unanimously approved by the California State Student Association Board of Directors.

As a Student Advocate for Associated Students Inc (ASI), I communicated students’ perspective to campus administration and staff through attending multiple committee meetings with faculty, campus administrators, and staff. Additionally, I conveyed vital information such as policies and events to the student constituency and other student leaders. Key projects included collaborating with a team to develop an expansion plan for the Student Union, redesigning the University Honors Program, creating a strategic plan for the Information and Technology Services Department, managing a $3.1 million budget and assess financial reports through Student Success Initiative Steering Committee, and participating in a search committee for the Director of Student Health Center and Dean of Undergraduate Studies. My favorite project was serving as the spokeswoman for the $90 million Santos Manuel Student Union Expansion project.
