Melissa and I worked together for nearly 11 years. During that time, I’ve received many words of commendation on jobs well done, partly by having Melissa on my team. Melissa’s strengths are strongly connected with her ability to effectively multi-task and meet tight deadlines. During the course of a task, Melissa will routinely ask probing questions for clarity, maintain flexibility in her approach, and demonstrate pure dedication to the task. When things don’t go as planned, Melissa maintains a sense of humor, and finds an alternate way to effectively get the job done! Just one example of Melissa’s excellence and reliability was experienced by me during her support of one of my projects in 2013. For this highly-visible, $1.2 billion dollar project, Melissa helped me produce a final 800-page manual. She was very instrumental in helping to successfully deliver the draft and draft final versions to our client before we delivered the final version. Melissa helped with all aspects of the reproduction work of the manual, including ordering binders, inserting spines, covers, tabs, printing, page by page cross checking/quality control, and burning CDs. She produced 26 beautiful, 3-ring binders, with accompanying CDs for our customer. During this process, Melissa demonstrated commitment to meeting the project delivery date, effectively coordinated with me, in my role as the publications lead, the technical team, and our facilities operations manager to order and receive graphic supplies. On this critical, milestone job, Melissa also demonstrated her leadership ability, team player skills, ability to coordinate and communicate with remote staff, and she stuck with the job to fruition.
