I love this job. I discover and am presented process ineffiencies, technical challenges, and dreams for internal tools that do not exist. Using VBA, SQL, Domo, and occasionally new tools I learn on the fly, I craft pain-free solutions for my colleagues to use. I identify the repetitive, brain-numbing parts of processes and devise solutions for long term use. I love that this job fosters a relentless hunger for knowledge because I need to understand my client's needs in great depth to best understand the causes of their biggest pain points and how to fix them. I'm kept on my toes by the unknown, always wary of future possibilities that my automations might mishandle and adjusting my plans accordingly. From start to end, each project exercises my imagination and encourages me to push my technical expertise; at the end, I am thrilled to have enhanced a colleague's work life, whether it's by directly reducing the manual drudgery or by making important information easily available without constant maintenance. This mixture of programming and user experience, in combination with many tasks that are ripe for automation, makes me excited to get to work every day. Show less
