Arabian Magazines is one of Bahrain’s oldest publishing houses. I was hired in 2012 as Editorial Assistant for Bahrain Confidential, their luxury and lifestyle title. I wrote across topics from art and culture to food and fashion, conducted interviews with general managers of automobile companies, chefs, artists, musicians…and represented the magazine at major events. I was promoted to Assistant Editor in 2015 and Editor in 2016. My responsibilities by then included everything from creating the flat plan to sign-off. My most memorable highlight was a press trip to the Seychelles for which I wrote a travel feature. I also wrote for Gulf Insider, their business title, from time to time, as well as supplements that we published and newsletters and annual reports for which we were editorial consultants. Show less

Salaam Bahrain is the Kingdom’s first and only Asian diaspora magazine. I joined the consultancy that published it as Projects' Coordinator in September 2011. My first major assignment was organising a press conference as part of a team for Lifestyle Fine Jewelry, a regional brand that was launching in Bahrain. From January 2012, I handled events for international retail giant Lulu Hypermarket. We were a small team and my responsibilities included everything from conceptualising the event to liaising with the media. In addition to this, I was assigned as Reporter. I wrote many features for Salaam Bahrain, as well as assisted on copyediting and proofreading. Further, I worked on the newsletter of The Bahrain-Japan Business & Friendship Society, managed by us.
