Each center provides cost-effective, stimulating, and comprehensive health and social services with the primary objective of supporting older adults and people with disabilities to live independently. As Director of SteppingStone Mabini I oversaw the center's operations to run a program that served up to 75 participants. I maintained a safe and engaging environment for participants, and supported staff to ensure implementation of best practices and to mitigate burnout. Other duties included: * Supervision of 14 staff and several contract employees. Staff included social service and mental health providers, nurses, occupational, physical and speech therapists, and program aides. I regularly met with staff to assist with identifying and addressing work-related challenges. I coordinated regular staff in-services and trainings. I also assisted in recruiting, hiring, and training of new staff. * Ensured the center was meeting all federal, state and local requirements * Submitted monthly reports for contractual obligations * During the COVID pandemic, and in collaboration with the Management Team, I assisted in the development and implementation of remote services, also known as Temporary Alternative Services. I then assisted in the transition back to in-center services. This included the rapid re-growth of our participant base from 50 back up to 70. * Stayed up-to-date on best practices to prevent and mitigate the spread of COVID to maintain a safe environment for participants, staff, and visitors.
