Primarily I work on CHOK (103.9 FM / 1070 AM), but occasionally, I have covered off middays for both K106.3 and 99.9 The Fox. I like to think of myself as their go-to person, and a jack of all trades. I op remotes, live-on-locations, talk shows, and Junior A & B hockey games. I often host live shows but also voice-track as needed. I do in-game announcements and giveaways in the stands at the Sarnia Sting OHL home games at Progressive Auto Sales Arena. I work closely with the other host, Matt, to divide and conquer, making sure to cover off all necessary sponsorship mentions, prizing, and cheers. We get the crowd riled up and keep them happy, by engaging them, treating them to free stuff occasionally, and hopefully a few laughs along the way. I hosted a radio show for Greater Sudbury, weekday afternoons from 2-730pm (6-730 pre-recorded and voice-tracked on Sundays from 2-6). We'd spin some awesome tunes (sometimes, literally, on Turntable Tuesdays, when we play 2 vinyl cuts per hour), and chat about what's happening in the world, the latest fads, and what's going on in The Big Nickel! #ysb My role was to prepare and deliver a local, relevant, relatable, and fun afternoon show each weekday. I would also participate in an on-going coffee/community promo where I surprise listeners at work each week on Thursdays, and I assisted with some imaging prod for Canada Day and International Women's Day by make several liners. • Feb 2017 - Apr 2017

Towards the end of February, we launched a brand new morning show on Magic 99.9 with a new partnership: Mark & Mel. Together, my co-host, Mark Armstrong, and I formed TBAY AM: Thunder Bay Mornings with Mark & Mel. This was the result of a major shake up of the announcers at Acadia in Thunder Bay... swapping places between the 2 stations in the building, from Magic 99.9 and our sister station, Country 105.In March, Mark left as he got a new job that took him back west close to home in Airdrie, AB, and from that point on I continued to host the show on my own, which I did happily. I only left later in April because I was headhunted and contacted about a job by Terry Callaghan from Rewind 103.9 in Sudbury, which was owned by Newcap, now Stingray. Show less

    • Imaging Producer
      • Dec 2016 - Apr 2017

Magic 99.9 I helped the head producer when he was away, but taking care of any urgent spots and promos that needed to be completed on a deadline. As well as spearheading "Your Thunder Bay," a short pre-recorded segment which would air daily with upcoming charity and community events. I would book the interviews, and conduct/record the interviewee, and then edit the audio and put it in the system.I was able to add this additional workload, and title, to my day, once they were essentially shaped differently, in starting on middays. I also revamped the Magic 99.9 liners, specifically for announcers now in new time slots (eg. me in middays, and my former cohost moving to afternoons later that year). As well, I worked in excel to catalogue the liners we currently had which needed to be updated, cut back, or retired. Show less

    • Midday Host
      • Dec 2016 - Feb 2017

Magic 99.9With a couple changes in staff, I was moved to interim midday host, where my duties were essentially the same as before, except I would host a different time slot, by myself. However, I would still find and prepare content, do giveaways and promos as needed. When my boss approached me with the plan to shuffle some bodies around to cover off missing staff members, I was immediately on board as a team player.

Took on this Swing-type position to accommodate station needs, while still down a member on the on-air side, but also wanted to get further away from news and focus on doing an on-air show. • Street Team for Classic Rock 94-5
      • May 2015 - Sep 2015

At Blackburn Radio Inc. Wingham, I worked part-time promotions as the Street Team summer cruiser for Classic Rock 94-5. I worked mostly weekends attending community events throughout mid-western Ontario, giving away swag, prizes, and doing promotional broadcasts at the events, for the hosting organizations, charities, non-profits or sponsors. Also, once a week, I would have a booth set-up at different golf courses for the station's Classic Rock golf tour dates. I would do a one minute promo broadcast per hour (8am-1pm) I was at the course. I'd greet guests and golfers and invite them to play our Plinko board game to win instant prizes, and enter them in our draw for a prize pack. On Thursdays, I would schedule with the 2 other summer cruiser employees, to plan for the weekend on the road. During my summer contract, my PD at Classic Rock and the PD for the pop station 101.7 the One also allowed me to do some voice-tracking, to air weekend mornings. Two hours Saturday on the pop station and two hours Sunday on Classic Rock 94-5. Show less

Primarily, I work as a board op. for station remotes/on-location broadcasts (99.9 the Fox, CHOK, & K106.3). Sometimes, I fill in as a swing announcer as vacation relief or in order to cover an announcer's sick day (CHOK). I have done some voice-tracking shifts as well (the Fox).

      • Jul 2014 - Apr 2015

I worked at American Eagle as a sales associate and designated "Jean Expert." Mostly, my job was to assist customers in finding what they need; I would assist them by getting a different size or colour of an item from storage in the back; another duty of mine was to ask customers if they required a fitting room and then prepare an available one for them by unlocking it and bringing their selected items to the room for them. I would also suggest certain pieces, push promos, help them find the proper style, wash, and fit for their tastes, and grab them anything else they need once they're in the fitting room. As a "Jean Expert" I would be able to find customers the ideal style of jean for them based upon a description of their preferences. I often met and sometimes exceeded my sales goals, dictated on a per-shift-basis. Show less

    • Credit Clerk Assistant
      • May 2012 - Aug 2013

I worked at Bluewater Power as a summer student two consecutive summers: May-August 2012 & May-August 2013. Primarily, I took incoming calls from the Dunning phone queue to the credit department and helped customers make payment arrangements. I contacted numerous account holders from call lists to notify them of arrears or outstanding balances on closed accounts at risk for being sent to credit bureau. I also created collection notices to be delivered to customers. I was trained and worked daily in SAP & ISU systems. I often had to work in Excel spreadsheets; I am comfortable using Microsoft Office programs. I worked solo on a project to review inactive accounts and track down/contact prior customers that had outstanding balances on said closed accounts, and essentially, lead the initiative during the summers I was there. • Front Desk Receptionist
      • Jun 2011 - Aug 2011

I worked reception at the company during a period where employees were shuffled around in order to compensate for a sick leave. As receptionist my main responsibility and number one priority was answering the phone and operating the switch board to transfer calls to the insurance brokers, as well as greeting and assisting clients upon walk-in. I took messages on occasion and sent out daily memos to all employees' email accounts. I was in charge of making labels for, faxing, photocopying, and/or scanning any client documents as required. I handled client payments: cash, cheque, and/or debit and would also prepare and input weekly deposits for the company. I received very minor training in PowerBroker, in order to search basic client information as well as format letterhead and forms for clients. I started and completed a project to digitize a "common contact" directory for the brokers using Excel: one for local law offices and one for other local insurance agencies and brokerages, stored on a communal hard-drive. • Clerical Assistant
      • Aug 2008 - Jun 2011

My main tasks as a clerical assistant were to file all loose documents to the appropriate client file, to put away all client files based on an alphabetical/numerical filing system, and to prepare letters to clients for mailing (folding, putting in envelopes, weighing, sealing, stamping them all). Also, I made new clients’ file-folders and cancelled old client files. I maintained office supply inventory, trained 2 fellow clerical assistants at the office, and lead an initiative to clear out old and cancelled files that were no longer necessary from overcrowded storage.
