While traveling in Mongolia, was invited to join a collaboration of American and Mongolian researchers on a 5-week fisheries expedition in remote northern Mongolia. Field sites were on the Eg and Uur rivers and Lake Khövsgöl. Field tasks included: sampling fish (taimen, lenok, and grayling) by angling, electrofishing, seining, gill nets, and drift nets; sampling invertebrates with drift nets and surber samplers; gastric lavage of lenok and grayling to collect stomach contents; dissection and stomach removal of euthanized lenok and grayling; extracting otoliths; identifying invertebrates to Order; and collecting water column profile samples.
