I currently teach in a self-contained program called the Learning Achievement Program (LAP). LAP is a point-based program, which follows the Boys Town Model for behavior. Students in LAP are placed in the program to receive additional behavioral, emotional, and academic support throughout their school day. I work with students who have a wide range of needs, including, but not limited to emotional/behavioral disabilities, learning disabilities, ADHD, truancy issues, etc. I am responsible for maintaining a caseload of 10-15 students within LAP, writing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), creating goals, and monitoring specific behavioral and academic goals for each student. I am also responsible for teaching content area courses to students in LAP. I also currently team-teach an Algebra/Trigonometry course. In the team-taught setting, I share teaching, planning, and grading responsibilities with the math content area teacher. Show less
