I began working at the University of Tennessee Medical Center on the Oncology floor before I graduated nursing school as a nurse tech and as a new graduate nurse. It was invaluable experience early in my career and I am so thankful. The most important aspect of this job was not the pay I received but the opportunity to learn from nurses who were masters of skill, patient education, and professionalism.
