For almost 2 years I worked for Luke who is the owner/director at LT Studio Architects as an Architectural Designer. My role has been predominantly developing a design concept from an initial bulk & location plan to resource consent stage with some assistance in the building consent stage. I have worked mostly on new multi-unit 2 & 3 story housing developments around the Auckland area and a couple of high-end houses. Key skills I have gained: Up to date ArchiCAD experience. Proficiency in modelling a site mesh & creating a building envelope. Understanding of a site with appropriate design outcomes. Designing 2 & 3 story terraced townhouse developments in partnership with the main Architect. Understanding of the Auckland planning zone changes including the new MDRS standards. Show less

I worked in a fixed term role at Young + Richards as an Architectural Graduate, helping to produce sets of plans for new Housing New Zealand developments around Auckland. I have also helped to assist the company with background setup of their Revit templates and details. Key skills I have gained: Experience in Revit; linked files and team collaboration on projects. Using Deltek online database program. Working in a team. Completing amendments. For 9 months I worked as an Architectural Technician/Designer on a number of projects for TDM Homes specifically designing pre-fab housing. Unfortunatly TDM is no longer in operation. Preparing plans and specifications for council submission and dealing with the council/building certifier until approval is given. Handling resource consent matters.
