I thrive in pushing the status quo and implementing innovative strategic initiatives with the needs of new learners in mind. I am passionate about the championing access to educational opportunities within the environmental sciences, technology, sustainability science. With the support of an innovative board and a great team of dedicated colleagues, we at Unity College launched The Enterprise Model, which offers traditional and adult place-bound students’ educational opportunities through non-profit subsidiaries in UC: Distance Education; Hybrid Learning; School for Environmental Business and Sustainable Ventures; and The Technical Institute for Environmental Professions. This new operating model has helped begin to break down the traditional barriers associated with higher education - making it more affordable, accessible, flexible, and relevant for students locally and nationally. We were also able to successfully lead efforts to grow the college’s enrollment through the diversified academic offerings of the Enterprise Model. After making this shift, Unity College has gone from a historical average of 500 students to over 3500 students as of 2022; with unprecedent geographic, demographic, and psychographic diversity within the College’s history. More so, though partnerships, friend and fundraising, the College’s annual operating budget and total assets have more than doubled, while also growing College’s Fossil Fuel Free endowment portfolio by over 30%. My passion for education started when I was young, and I realized that the opportunities it presented to me should be accessible to everyone - not just the lucky few. I am committed to expanding academic programs in various modalities & pedagogies, to ensure access, in lieu of exclusivity, as the guiding principle at America’s Environmental College.
