At Environment Canada I worked alongside federal scientists to complete risk assessments of chemical substances including organohalogen flame retardants and PAHs from coal tars. My roles included data gathering and tabulation to better understand the chemical properties and toxicity data relevant for assessing risk of these substances to Canadians and the Environment. I analyzed trends of PAHs released to air from facilities involved with coal tars, and assisted with the risk characterization of PAHs released from coal tar based pavement sealants.

Apr 2011 - Nov 2011
As a Salmon Habitat Restoration Field Technician I led a crew in the restoration of riparian vegetation and rip rap essential to salmon habitat. Our team designed and executed an educational campaign in Surrey’s Agricultural Land Reserve and completed water sampling on local rivers. I assisted at the Seymour Hatchery and built an erosion control structure adjacent to a fish bearing creek. I organized and partook in multiple community outreach events throughout the City of Surrey.
