I started as a van driver for my family business Viking Industrial Products Ltd back in 1989 and have had a hands-on role in its growth and development ever since. From the outset, we struck up a partnership with global technology brand 3M for whom we are now one of only 10 'premiership distributors'. We are now the UK's no 1 supplier of industrial tapes, adhesives and abrasives used in manufacturing and construction, working across sectors including sign-making, vehicle production, metal… Show more I started as a van driver for my family business Viking Industrial Products Ltd back in 1989 and have had a hands-on role in its growth and development ever since. From the outset, we struck up a partnership with global technology brand 3M for whom we are now one of only 10 'premiership distributors'. We are now the UK's no 1 supplier of industrial tapes, adhesives and abrasives used in manufacturing and construction, working across sectors including sign-making, vehicle production, metal fabrication, aerospace, electronics, haulage, window manufacturing, furniture/wood working, printing/print finishing and packaging. Progressing into a customer facing sales role and then taking over the internal sales office and marketing function, I am now Operations Director overseeing the customer care team, warehousing, accounts and purchasing functions. I am also heavily involved in the company's marketing and our innovative online presence including our ecommerce offering, which was a first in our sector. In December 2013, I launched our Apprenticeship Scheme which saw us take on our first engineering apprentice and subsequently a Customer Care apprentice. In 2014 I project managed and implemented a new back office computer system and was delighted when we got shortlisted and became finalists for Family Business Of The Year regional award in 2015. We also won Theo Phathitis Small Business Sunday award in 2017 for our on line presence. Our charity of choice is Breast Cancer Awareness and we run year-round fundraising activities.
