Over the course of the summer, I had the fortunate opportunity to study abroad in Shanghai. My experience would not have been the same without Melanie. Diligent, motivated and focused, Melanie has always been there to lend a hand. A core team player, she is dedicated and ambitious in achieving her career and educational goals. I see nothing but greatness in her future.

Global Connect at UCI is an educational partnership that seeks to enrich California's secondary school curriculum in international studies. This is accomplished by translating university-level concepts and knowledge into a curriculum that is age appropriate for high school students. I, along with a team of other UCI students and faculty introduce global studies to high school students by working directly in classrooms to present power points, lead workshops and facilitate capstone projects.
