The Longitudinal Study of Youth Leaving Care is based on a Participatory Action Research (PAR) model and involves current youth in care and alumni in all aspects of the project and its governance. Youth Leaders form a Youth Committee, which is tasked to help decide which questions will be asked in the study interviews, how the interviews will be conducted, and how to ensure study participants continue to engage with the study for a period of five years. Youth Leaders will also help inform the dissemination of results strategy, how to train social service providers, and what policy recommendations can be gained from this project. This 7 year long project is housed at l'École nationale de l'administration publique (ÉNAP), and is funded by SSHRC and la Chaire de recherche du Canada sur l'Évaluation des actions publiques à l'égard des jeunes et des populations vulnérables (CRÉVAJ).
