      I was given the opportunity to host an event to raise money for local charities in 2012. I held a car show because it was a family-friendly event. With more than 110 cars, I was ecstatic that so many people came together to support the cause. Other causes and organizations since have asked me to host car shows to help raise money for their causes. As we enter 2018, I have held 10 car shows and volunteered at many others. The needs in our communities grow every day. I have been thinking about having a show to help more causes in need. This year will be the beginning of “Mel’s Car Show” to benefit The Children’s Miracle Network. Attending car shows is a passion of mine, and it is also a key element to making “Mel’s Car Shows” a success. Whether it’s handing out flyers or conversing with attendees, it is all important. Someone asked “Who holds these car shows?” and a friend replied, “Its Mel’s Car Show, you know? Frank’s daughter.” I look forward to this year’s three shows I have organized. Show less
