Principle Responsibilities: • To provide an in-house service user assessment and intervention service. • To provide ‘clinical’ advice, consultancy and/or supervision to staff teams or workers. • To liaise with external professionals and agencies regarding specific service users. • To develop and co-ordinate Poten’s programme of staff development related to Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Challenging Behaviours and Learning Disabilities including designing and delivering specialist training. • To complete initial assessments for new referrals and liaise with the Regional Director /Area managers and Care Managers about service specifications. • To participate in developing/reviewing organisational policies and procedures as required. • To co-ordinate and participate in the process of achieving National Autistic society Accreditation. • To provide the Regional Director with evidence based advice on matters of service design, delivery and good practice. • To make professional contacts that enhance the profile and reputation of Potens. • To participate in presentations to meetings with potential commissioners of new services. • To ensure that service user’s rights are respected at all times and in line with the Human Rights Act and Mental Capacity Act 2005 and ensuring Deprivation of Liberty (DOL) guidelines are always followed. • To ensure Safeguarding Policies are adhered to, to protect and safeguard vulnerable people. • To ensure that service users are safeguarded from physical, verbal, financial or material, psychological or sexual abuse, neglect, discriminatory abuse or self-harm, inhuman or degrading treatment, through deliberate intent, negligence or ignorance, in accordance with written policies.
