I work directly with Mel on our community programming and quite frankly, I’d be lost without her. Mel is motivated, committed and talented, and continues to exceed expectations with every project and task she takes on. She hits the ground running and often takes care of things before I even need to make a request. Not to mention, she has an impressive extra-curricular calendar, always finding a way to make a positive impact on her community. Working with Mel and the SHCG team has been, and will continue to be, a pleasure. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her for any event or project coordination need.

Assistant for Transportation and Structural Engineering led projects with focus on the Ministry of Transportation, from proposal phase to final completion. Duties also included System Administration for corporate qualifications, finalizing all client deliverables and focus on orientation of new hires. Instrumental in the initiation and maintained of all social media channels for company with little direction. Took lead on year-long campaign for 30th anniversary in 2018 which proved to gain "Employer of the Year" award. Efforts included creative development in identifying and scoping each event, organizing and scheduling of the event and activities, and promotion of the event internally to our team and also externally through our social media channels. And my favourite: rallying and motivating staff support and attendance at each event which included post-event celebration and promotions. Show less

Reporting directly to the Hotel Director, my daily duties can vary though always require proactive attendance and trusted confidence. Weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports prepared with priority on appropriate legal papers for ship to dock in various countries. Communication needed with government authorities and ships' officers regarding offloads, transfers and medical documents. Other responsibilities include transcribing meetings, pay reporting, contract updating, reviewing ratings and participating in safety drills. As a Petty Officer, my duties were reflective of upper management. Assisting Guest Services office with all related services: Training new hires, guest conflict resolution, missing children, lost luggage, disability services, general information, and operating 911 line. To prepare and oversee all on board departments involved in guest functions including weddings, business charters, private meetings, theatrical stage shows and private tours. Delegating departments is key, requiring knowledge of overall procedures regarding Food and Beverage, Housekeeping, Audio and Visual, Accounting, Casino, and Shore Excursions.Liaison between guests and shore-side sales for positive end-product. Also, escorting high profile guests, special needs or local press as needed. Beneficial to my guests, though not required in the job description, I often would volunteer to address large groups on the microphone to instruct and arrange private debarkation.Assisting Guest Services office with all related services: Training new hires, guest conflict resolution, missing children, lost luggage, disability services, general information, and operating 911 line.
