Provided global IT consultant services to Selective Services System federal agency. Researched IT infrastructure management and security best practices to support the agency’s mission. In addition, met weekly with the agency’s executive team to address and enhance IT operation services and develop a future improvement plan across all locations. The consulting services covered the following areas: ➤ Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) compliance: as part of the annual audit for compliance, using the FISMA standards, worked with external auditors and IT team members to collect documentation and resolve any open items pertaining to the infrastructure including IT systems, network, security, and application development. Provided long and short-term recommendations to enhance the audit results. ➤ United States Government Configuration Baseline (USGCB) implementation: managed the deployment of USGCB images across the agency including collaborating with systems administrators and security analysts to create a "gold" USGCB image that is appropriately customizable and documented for the agency's needs. ➤ PIV cards (for two-factor authentication) deployment: worked with the infrastructure team, security team, and desk services team to finalize the project requirements and security needs, developed a schedule, and conducted a pilot phase across all of the agency offices. Following the pilot phase, I managed and tracked the entire deployment process. ➤ ITIL and ITSM Services: identified the applicable ITIL and ITSM standards and recommended support levels that the IT team would deliver to the agency managers for approval. Assessed a few applications and deployed the VIZOR system to support the ITIL and ITSM through defined incident management standards, a customer portal and self-service capabilities, customized reports, inventory management, and an included knowledge base.
