I am currently attending patient-centered care: High Acuity clinical rotation at North Shore Medical Center. I have the ability to shadow skilled nurses and apply all the nursing skills I have learned so far. I am in the process of applying and learning the skills that I have currently acquired so that I can apply them to my own patient's in the future once I am an RN. I attended patient-centered care: Adult/Elderly II at Broward Health where I had the opportunity to shadow multiple nurses and expand my nursing skills. I practiced completing head-to-toe assessments, administering medications safely, and implementing nursing interventions. This hospital was very educational as they allowed the students to do mostly hands on work and educate us every step of the way. I attended family-centered care: Parent/Child clinical rotation at Nicklaus Children's Hospital where I had the opportunity to gain the experience in working with children and understanding what it is like to be a nurse for them. I learned how to communicate effectively to parents and how to treat children. Parent/child clinical is a rotation I have always wanted to do and I am content that I can now have that experience which can be used for my knowledge and will be useful for my skills in the future as a nurse.
