  Profile • Positional trades , Calender spreads, Cross commodity Spreads Was handling the Exchange P & L (NCDEX) trading book to the tune of 40 Cr. The main strategy was to find an opportunity to either go long or go short on the Exchange on positional basis while also managing the risk. The positional view was taken for a time frame of a month or two month. The strategy was to prepare the balance sheet of the entire respective commodity and then take a directional view on that commodity based on the SND. The positions handled were 2500 mts each for chana, Rapeseed and Soybeans while 4000 MTs were handled in cottonseed oilcake. At any given point of time, the total positions were not exceeding 15000 MTS. Formulating strategies towards Calendar spreads, Cross commodity spreads – Mainly Soy oil and Rmseed, Soybean and soy oil, Soy oil and CPO. The spread handled were 2500 mts each for rapeseed and Soybean while 1500 MTS each for soyoil and Crude palm oil. Risk management • Since, there are no options on the NCDEX platform, risk management was done by limiting the position limits on each commodity. • Every commodity had a exposure of Rs 10/12 Cr hence controlling the risk part. • Timely review was conducted on each position and incase of change in view, timely measures were taken by way of squaring the positions in both long and short cases. Cash & Carry trades ( Non demat) Initiated & have handled the Cash & Carry trades for cotton seed oilcake thereby buying in the Physical markets and hedging on the exchange. The volumes handled were 900 MTS in Akola and nearby areas. Sold the whole stock of 900 MTS (non demat) at Akot location (near Akola) while squaring off the trade and realizing a net return of 2% per month.
