HPEC, the Humanitarian Physicians Empowerment Community, is using DLT based Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) technology to bring patients and physicians closer together again. Through SSI we will restore privacy security and trust to the physician-patient relationship. HPEC starts by solving the problem of identity and credentialing that keep physicians tied to third-party systems. Because HPEC is decentralized, the physician owns their information, and they become the primary source of verificaion of their identity and credentials. It is the foundation of identity and credentialing that the rest of our new open healthcare marketplace will be built. Learn more at our website HPEC.io Show less

I specialize in treating people with moderate to severe emotional trauma and in particular, technology startup founders who are experiencing symptoms of burnout during the launch of their venture. The startup world is an extremely high pressure and risky environment. People who have had adverse childhood experiences or dysfunctional relationships in the past may unknowingly be playing out roles from their past within their startup. Unprocessed personal issues can be detrimental to your venture. I'm familiar with the world of startups and Silicon Valley and have taken care of dozens of founders in my practice. Your startup is an extension of your own self. It's important to have a therapeutic space to address your mental health and thrive. Your startup will thank you! Show less

    • Acute Inpatient Psychiatry Physician
      • Jul 2014 - Jun 2020

This role entailed serving as team leader for an acute inpatient psychiatry clinical service to evaluate and treat hospitalized severely mentally ill veterans. The VA Palo Alto is a primary teaching site for Stanford University School of Medicine. The veterans served ranged from Vietnam Era veterans to more recent military operations in the Middle East, including active military duty personnel. Veterans were frequently found to have emotional trauma related psychiatric illnesses often stemming from both military combat traumatic experiences as well as history of early childhood emotional trauma. Veterans were treated for anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, psychotic disorders, and mood disorders. Clinical tasks included managing acute psychiatric emergencies, performing psychiatry consults for general medical floors, stabilizing patients with psychopharmacological interventions. Clinical teaching for Stanford University medical students and residents was a major part of this role. Show less
