Dr Mehdi Sharifani was one of my best under graduate student and friend, not only smart, hard worker, keen to learn and know, but also morals, humble and intellectual person. During PhD studentship I was contacted with him to learn more about our research projects. I am proud of him for his outstanding academic achievement, research activities and students satisfaction. I wish a Healthy and Wealthy life for him and his family. Nasser Abdi

My name is Mehdi Sharifani, and I’ m currently a researcher and lecture at Horticulture department, Gorgan University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, Gorgan, Iran. I obtained my PhD from Adelaide University (Australia) 1998. My major is pollination and fruit set studies in temperate fruits using biotechnology tools. In this respect I teach different subjects from Bsc to PhD levels. These include; post-harvest physiology of fruits and vegetables crops, fruit tree physiology, temperate fruits, General plant biotechnology, and Genetic engineering. Within my career I have did perform different projects including; pear pollination and molecular studies, Pistachio pollination using dynamic of pollen flow and investigation on properties of cell wall polymers of two early and late cultivars of cherry using GPC. Senescence in fruit crop is another of my interest. Recently, I and my student have completed a research work on tagging of alfa mannosidase gene in few cultivars of sweet cherry. I enjoy meeting new people and finding ways to help them have an elevating experience. I am dedicated and a team player person in research work. My fun is travelling, mountain climbing, music, running and playing volleyball and basketball.
