Healthcare Assistant
-
Jun 2019 - Aug 2019
He spent shadowing a team at a GP clinic to understand what primary healthcare workers usually do daily. He was inspired by the compassion and teamwork of the GPs in the clinic to help and direct the patients in the best way possible. He also had the honour of shadowing a specialist diabetes team in a referral clinic in Iran in the summer. This experience has given him an insight into the similarities and differences between healthcare services. For him, this highlighted the essential nature of teamwork in medicine and the importance of the best quality of the health care service worldwide. Furthermore, he found this shadowing to be really valuable since it allowed him to observe a different healthcare system approach compared to the UK. It has also strengthened his communication skills with patients from different cultures and lifestyle.
