Placement student in the Energy Recovery System Design department. Celebrated and contributed to being the first engine supplier in the V6 era to win a race with two different teams. At Honda Racing, I was involved in both time-critical and R&D projects for the ERS system. My key project was to update the battery pack drawing to account for any new/removed/updated parts, as well as liaising with different departments to ensure the changes were communicated to the workshop. This had a direct impact on the race pack, and required clear, concise and timely updates.Alongside this, I worked with suppliers to resolve problems and prevent them from being repeated. This required clear communication between the supplier, purchasing department and design department to identify the issue and create an appropriate action plan. This particular problem taught me about the importance of correct tolerancing and how to identify CAD/drawing discrepancies.I undertook a Diploma in Operations Management whilst working from home, and presented the key points to the design department, as well as implementing a programme management tool to aid task management.Other projects included modifying test parts for lightweighting purposes, designing high voltage components whilst considering creep and conductivity, and revising drawings and releasing them.Achieved RED level High Voltage Safety training and First Aid training.
