This yearlong program focuses on building new, diverse voices of leadership within the movement to end domestic violence by providing hands-on leadership development opportunities for staff from domestic violence agencies, other allied professionals, and survivors, especially those that represent underserved or under-represented communities. Individuals who complete this academy receive a solid foundation in leadership skill-building within their organization and within the domestic violence movement, with a focus on cultural consciousness and allyship. Participants: - Learn about their personal leadership style and enhance their skill and capacity as leaders and change agents in various spheres of influence; - Learn about key leadership concepts and cutting-edge theories and practices regarding prevention and intervention of domestic violence; - Explore the importance of advocating for oneself, advocating for others, and becoming a true ally to others as a leader; and - Become part of a growing cohort of advocates and/or ally leaders who are committed to ending domestic violence.
