WHO WE ARE: It is the mission of the Memphis Suit Project to instill confidence and credibility to job seekers in Memphis who are working to improve their lives by furthering their education, or by gaining employment. We do this by providing suits and professional business attire so that our recipients are “interview ready” when they complete our 6-week program. Realizing the importance of a first impression, specifically in a competitive workforce, we work to eliminate barriers and level the playing field. WHO WE SERVE: Our primary recipients are high school and college students in need. We are also proud to serve veterans who are entering the civilian workforce, men in under-resourced areas of our community, and those returning to work post-incarceration. HOW OUR RECIPIENTS ARE IDENTIFIED: We are proud to partner with Recipient Organizations throughout our community. These organizations work closely with the men we serve by mentoring them through various job-readiness programs. Recipient Organizations help us to identify the men who will receive a suit and assist us in hosting our three Events. WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP: Our work is only possible through the amazing generosity of our donor partners; people who know the value of a good first impression and who seek to help those who may need a little help in making theirs. We create long-term partnerships with donors so that they see their gift in action- a young man seeking employment and gaining it, which makes their lives and our communities better. It takes each of us to make a difference for all of us and we would love for you to join our mission. >Financial Support: It costs our organization $200 per recipient to provide this gift of training and business attire.
