      Research labs with hands-on experiences and learning, work on professional skills such as public speaking, interviews, college readiness, and working with business partners. Used a microcentrifuge, micropipettes, and DNA extraction kits to extract DNA and run the DNA samples to see if the Alu gene is present in the DNA. Used this DNA lab as background testing for the multiple sclerosis project from the University of Iowa. Currently working on a lab testing the toxicity of cinnamon with brine shrimp. Different levels of toxicity were created by mixing different amounts of cinnamon with saltwater and observing how the brine shrimp react to the toxic environment.
