  During my time advising international students and scholars at VCU, I became an expert in F-1 and J-1 regulations, as well as SEVIS operations governing both. I gained valuable experience in the inner workings of higher education, specifically international education. I gained enough expertise that I was a frequent presenter at NAFSA conferences and workshops, work which I continued even after leaving VCU.
