I would highly recommend Megan for any public speaking or meeting facilitation. Megan has facilitated a number of large events with Transition Southampton including group workshops and official meetings. She has also given a number of public talks covering a variety of topics. She is always very personable and energetic, and skilfully steers workshops in the intended direction so they achieve the intended objectives. Her communication is faultless and attendees invariably leave her events motivated and smiling.

Megan facilitated a visioning event I helped to organise. She was dynamic, engaged and engaging, and helped those present shape a meaningful vision of their shared future. I will include her as part of my team at any future event.

I launched the food group in May 2009 in order to organise projects and events that would re-skill the community, raise awareness, and make tangible changes around food issues in Southampton.Ran regular meetings, organised publicity and newsletters, and oversaw projects by other volunteers. Organised and ran cookery sessions for over 40 members of the public, improving people's confidence in using low-carbon ingredients. Planned a food co-op workshop in conjunction with Sustain's Food Co-ops project which resulted in two new bulk buy schemes starting in Southampton, and highlighted the lessons learnt by two existing projects. We also ran a demonstration veg bag/box scheme for 38 households alongside the workshop.Planned and publicised 'Transition Talks' a series of talks by local people who had made significant changes in their lives that others could implement as well.

This involved responsibility for a budget of £44k, creating new partnerships with other organisations, consultation with local residents, and extensive recruitment of volunteers, along with all monitoring and reporting requirements. In addition, I helped the residents to secure additional funding, including small grants with Southern Water, Radio Solent Community Chest, and SCC Decent Neighbourhoods. One garden, run by Freemantle Triangle Residents Association, was profiled over the course of the year by Kate Martin of BBC Radio Solent. Another, Neva Road garden led by Ross Davis, was featured on ITV Meridian News highlighting the success after the CSC project finished (http://youtu.be/oqmFAA7_Tgc). To initiate this project, I wrote the successful bids to bring this and other funding into the project as a whole, over £77k in total.
