I conduct interviews with citizens in Newberry to advance dialogue between the past and present, as well as transcribe interviews about narratives of African American history in Florida. This internship allowed me to learn about and take part in a collaborative, multidisciplinary project at the University of Florida that explores the ethical dimensions of controversial contemporary issues. Through organizing student ethics cafes, I helped facilitate constructive reflection and dialogue around issues such as gender violence and immigration reform. I also conducted individual research on political polarization.
