As Assistant Producer, I was part of a two-person in house production team, organising and executing all homeware, fashion & still life photography shoots for Matalan. My main responsibilities were leading production for all home and still life shoots, both on location & in-studio, and supporting the senior producer on all fashion shoots.Working closely with our in-house art directors through pre and post-production, we collaborated with agencies and freelancers to create imagery for Matalan which are used across all creative channels including POS, TV, digital content, mailers, advertising & social media. From the briefing of imagery from channel owners, I reached out to photographers, stylists and locations who are suitable to the specific job. I assisted in creating estimates, ensuring we stuck within our budget.I was responsible for the creative shoot calendar, mapping out all shoot days within the year, ensuring all briefs are captured and cross checked with the critical paths. I booked all still life or lower level photography with our external studios - liaising with the owners, booking in all shoot dates and sending over full briefs, AD packs and critical paths, working with them to ensure all shoots came in on budget and on time. I also worked closely with our sample team, confirming products would be packed and sent to studios within a specific time frame. For homeware, I worked closely with the Buying & Merchandising (B&M) team to make sure all samples were packed correctly, and that a junior member of the team was able to attend unpacking and the first few days of the shoots, to support the external studios, stylists and photographers with any queries, therefore limiting the amount of queries that would usually come through to the production team.
