Through my time with the Kemptville Area Family Resource Centre, I was lucky enough to have to opportunity to work in a variety of their different programs. Initially I worked as a Supply Teacher during the summer breaks while in university. Once I was finished school, I got on as a Preschool Teacher. I also had the opportunity to work as an Educational Assistant on two separate occasions, working with some amazing children with learning disabilities. Subsequently I went on to have my own classroom in the Ready to Learn Program, which was the lead up to full day Kindergarten. This gave me the chance to work in a school setting alongside some brilliant teachers. Finally, I worked in both the Infant and Toddler classrooms, where helping children learn and grow at such an early stage was extremely rewarding. Effectively communicating with parents at this stage was paramount to the child's growth, development and positive daycare experience. Show less
